Another success story for our learners who attended our Sector Based Work Academy (SBWA) Skills for Confidence and Health & Social Care course at Thames Group Ambulance Service in Ipswich!
This is the second time Thames Group have used SBWA to recruit staff, after such a successful course! The first course was, Skills for Confidence, which ran over 4 days from 6th January . The second course was Health and Social Care that ran over 5 days starting on 14th January. Once the learners had successfully completed both courses they were then invited to undertake a 3 week work experience. During this time the learners were asked to
complete a Maths and English assessment in which they needed to achieve a level 1 or above. If they successfully completed this assessment then they would go through to the next stage of the process, which was to complete a driving assessment. If the learners did not successfully complete both assessments they would be unable to finish their training with Thames Group as they would be unable to drive the ambulances or be able to read or calculate how much medication they may need to give someone.
Our learners passed the assessment process and therefore attended further training with Thames Group, which included:
First Person on Scene (FPOS)
Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons
Equality & Diversity
Infection Prevention and Control
TheLightBulb would like to wish all these learners every success in their new roles and we look forward to working with them through their apprenticeship.
